Barney McGrath has an outstanding understanding of all aspects of the real estate industry, including sales, marketing, technology and team management. Prior to entering real estate, he spent the majority of his career in senior roles within the advertising industry in Sydney, New York and London. Having worked with IBM, McDonalds and Audi, amongst many other global leaders, he brings to real estate a passionate understanding of the importance of the brand and how to market it.
Barney joined McGrath Real Estate in 1999 and had the good fortune of working closely with John McGrath, arguably one of the Australian industry’s most progressive thinkers. After leaving the McGrath Company in 2002, he worked as a consultant to many of the industry’s most successful brands – both independent and franchise. These include Ray White, Laing & Simmons, R&W, Marshall White, Cobden & Hayson, Devine Real Estate, Warwick Williams Real Estate, PhilipWebb, Ferry Real Estate, Toop&Toop, Bradcorp Holdings, Bresic Whitney and many others.
Barney’s great skill is to take a business health check, understand the key goals of the business, and create a marketing strategy designed to deliver outcomes, not just pretty pictures. He is keenly focused on deliverable outcomes, not creative awards.
